That means consuming less calories than you burn. Drink nothing but water to force your body to burn fat reserves. If you have the ability to keep this up for a whole year, you’re set. Seriously, though, eating less than you use is the way to go. It can’t be only water, but replacing soda and juice with water will save you 90,000 calories, or 25 pounds, each year. So cut down on portions and drink the water, not the koolaid. Exercise as if the slave master will punish you if you stop moving. That means don’t stop until you lose consciousness. Back to reality, exercise to burn calories is important to losing weight. 30 minutes a day seven days a week, rather than hours and hours until you drop, is fine. Keep off the pounds with muscle training at least three days a week. Muscle does mean a higher metabolism, and in the long run it means less work because you’re burning more calories even while standing still.
