As a psychologist specializing in treating anxiety, I found this book very helpful. It is an accademic text and aimed at professionals instead of the general public. With that said, it is very easy to read and gives great advice and information. The one area I found really interesting and helpful was the authors have compared many different treatment modalities for anxiety to see which is the most effective. These treatments range from CBT, EMDR, Personal construct theory, etc. This easy to read book is a must for any therapist treating clients suffering from anxiety. It’s also fascinating from a researchers point of view.

I found the book to be helpful on both a professional and personal level. I am able to utilize some recommended treatment techniques in psychotherapy with my patients. I found particularly helpful the chapter by A. Schwartz and K. Crits-Christoph.
